Spartanburg County Deputy Austin Aldridge was killed in the line of duty back in June of last year.
Now, his widowed wife gave birth to their first and only child, a baby girl, on Tuesday.
The family announced the birth on Facebook, where they said “She is so precious and the perfect, heavenly gift. She is the answer to our many prayers. While we experience a roller coaster of emotions, we are so thankful for this sweet miracle.”
The girl has been named Claire Austin Aldridge in part after her father.
