OCSO
Corporal Lucas Watts
Oconee County Sheriff's Office

Weeks after he was shot in the line of duty an Upstate deputy continues to make progress in his recovery. As we previously reported, Corporal Lucas Watts of the Oconee County Sheriff's Office was shot during a traffic stop, November 16th.

Since then Watts has been in the hospital, his family recently provided an update on his condition. The family says that over the weekend Watts was able to follow commands, something he has not been able to do in the last two weeks prior.

On Monday, Watts was responsive when his wife showed him photos of their son. Watts has now been transferred out of the Trauma ICU unit. His family plans to eventually move Watts to a rehab center in Atlanta. They ask for the public to continue praying for Corporal Watts during his long road to recovery.
