The family of a black man who shot and killed by deputies in the Upstate earlier this year, is asking for more answers in the aftermath of his death. The family of Darius Holcomb held a press conference in front of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, Wednesday along with the National Racial Justice Network.

As we previously reported, Holcomb died February 2nd after a standoff with Deputies. He reportedly barricaded himself inside a home while armed with a knife. After everyone else was out of the home deputies made entry and and sent in a K-9.

Holcomb allegedly stabbed the K-9 officer and another deputy fatally shot him. In the news conference, Holcomb's family stated that he suffered from Schizophrenia and deputies knew that prior to the incident.

The family is asking to see more video footage from the incident. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says they can't comment on the situation due to SLED's investigation of the incident, which is standard practice for officer involved shootings statewide. SLED has not released further details or statements on the shooting.
