A former elected leader in the Upstate has died. Former Greenville County Council Chairman Bob Taylor's passing was announced publicly Friday by current Chairman Benton Blount.
Taylor served in Greenville County government for over 2 decades. He also worked at Bob Jones University for 50 years and served as the Dean of the college of Arts and Science.
Blount said of Taylor "Greenville County has lost a devoted leader, a scholar, and a friend to many. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life and legacy. A life defined by service, leadership, and a love for this community".
