A former prison guard is facing charges after being accused of assaulting an inmate, last month. The South Department Of Corrections says 37 year old, Jacob Johnson of Union is charged with misconduct in office and 2nd degree assault.
Johnson reportedly grabbed an inmate and pinned him against a wall, while working at Tiger River Correctional Institute, March 8th.
The inmate was injured and was taken to a local hospital. Johnson has since been fired from his position.
