A former deputy in the Upstate has been charged with ill treatment of animals. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says 36 year old, Alton Davis was arrested after dogs were found malnourished at a home in Iva.
Another dog was found dead on the property. Davis is charged with 4 counts of ill treatment of animals and once count of improper burial of an animal.
The Sheriff's Office says Brown worked there before leaving for another job in 2022. The three dogs found still alive were given over to the Anderson County Paws organization.
