A now former employee at an Upstate school is facing charges of cruelty of children. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says 26 year old Peighton Ivie turned himself in Thursday morning.
The charge comes after investigators say Ivie committed physical assault on a student. The alleged incident happened Tuesday at Ellen Woodside Elementary on the Greenville County side of Pelzer.
Ivie was reportedly breaking up a crowd if students who were gathered in the bathroom which led to things getting physical. Ivie has since been fired by the Greenville County School District.
