A former high school wrestling coach in the Upstate is facing sex child sex crime charges. Former Wade Hampton High Wrestling Coach Steven John McCollister has been arrested on a charge of 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. The charges came after an investigation that started in February.
The investigation started after appropriate messages from McCollister to the juvenile victim were found and reported by a family member of the victim. Officials say, that McCollister has not employed by the school since the allegations were brought forth.
Investigators say that McCollister engaged in a sexual relationship with the juvenile victim who he met through his role as a coach.
