A former WNC Sheriff already accused of rape, is now facing another charge of the same crime. Swain County’s former Sheriff, 72-year-old Curtis Cochran, retired from his position at the start of the month ahead of the pending charges.
Now, an additional charge of second-degree forcible rape was file against Cochran Tuesday.
As we previously reported, Cochran is also facing similar charges from both state and tribal courts after accusations from two women of sexual assault, earlier this year.
