Four people are facing weapons and immigration charges after a federal raid in Western North Carolina. The U.S. Department of Justice says three people are charged with weapons violations and a 4th faces charges for illegal entry.
Operation Take Back America is a joint operation between ICE, the ATF, Homeland Security and state and local agencies. 35 year old, Rafael Martinez-Reano was charged with illegal reentry into the United States. Officials say, he has been deported twice in the past.
27 year old, Justin Owenby of Asheville is charged with possession of a gun by a felon. 51 year old, Gregory Lee Pettit of Candler is charged with possession of an unregistered grenade and possession of a gun by a drug addict.
38 year old, William Ellwood of Cherokee was charged for having an unregistered silencer. All these cases will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorneys Office in Asheville.
