A student at an Upstate University is dead after being found unresponsive on campus over the weekend. The Greenville County Coroner's Office responded to a dorm at Furman University, Sunday night.
Upon arrival 18 year old, Ella Carroll Whiteman was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. Whiteman was from the Atlanta area and was a 1st year student at Furman.
Elizabeth Davis, Furman's President described Whiteman as someone with a lot of friends and a beloved member of the University's family.
Her cause and manner of death are still pending, at this time.
