A Gaffney man will spend the next decade and a half behind bars after shooting his estranged wife. As we previously reported, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in November of 2024.
When deputies arrived they found 41 year old David Dustin Fowler standing over the victim with a shotgun still in hand. Court records say, Fowler shot the woman multiple times and she suffered serious injuries including the loss of three fingers.
Fowler has prior conviction for aggravated domestic violence and has pleaded guilty to a federal weapons violation in the shooting case.
He's been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, there's no parole or early release in the federal system.
