Greenville County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested and charged 26 year-old Nicholas Kendrick Williams in connection with the shooting Tuesday at the Armstrong Suites, on Augusta Road.
Investigators says Williams entered a motel room (rented by another party), uninvited and unannounced and shot a man inside.
The motive behind the shooting is still unclear.
Following the shooting Williams went to the Camelot Inn where deputies eventually located him after receiving a call about a suspicious person, and tried to get him in custody during the eventual standoff.
After a period of negotiations, investigators were able to take Williams in custody without further incident.
The firearm believed to be used in the shooting was recovered.
The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
Williams is currently in the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
