Fewer service calls and quicker response times... The Laurens County Sheriff's Office released it's "year in review" statistics. A social media post shared in 2024 Deputies responded to 36,216 calls; 4,000 less than the previous year. The average response time of 18 minutes and 46 seconds reflects a decrease of over 3 minutes compared to 2023.
The post noted "that a great majority of calls do not require a rapid emergency response."
Sheriff Don Reynolds said of the achievements, “I am incredibly proud of the men and women of this office and their unwavering dedication to this community. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Laurens County and look forward to continuing our mission of safety and service." The Sheriff's Office attributed the successful results to greater presence in the community and proactive crime prevention efforts.
