The first registration window for students who plan to attend kindergarten or first grade in Greenville County Schools next year (2022-23) will be held December 6-10, 2021. To encourage more families to register early, GCS has partnered with FirstSteps for a chance to win free Ice on Main tickets! Each elementary school will receive 4 tickets to Ice on Main to provide to 2 randomly drawn families (2 tickets for a K5 student who registered Dec. 6-10 and 2 tickets for a randomly drawn first grade student who registered Dec. 6-10.) GCS says, It is extremely important that parents enroll their children during this period so they can determine how many teachers will be needed on the first day of school. Below is a video on registration from Greenville County Schools.

The district says, Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2022 must enroll in public or private kindergarten unless the parent or legal guardian signs a waiver (see Kindergarten Non-Attendance Form). Any child who will be six years old on or before September 1, 2022 must enroll in first grade. (IMPORTANT: Students who are currently enrolled in a GCS 4K or 5K program do not need to register and are not eligible to win the free Ice on Main tickets.)
