A Greenville man will spend more than four decades in prison for killing his fiance' and her unborn child. The 8th Circuit Solicitor's Office says 25 year old, Camrin Jay Smith was convicted of two counts of murder and multiple weapons violations.
Officials say Smith shot his fiancé 24 year old Grace Ables at a home on Highway 14, in November of 2023. Smith originally told police he accidentally shot Ables and was charged with involuntary manslaughter after Ables and her unborn child were pronounced dead at the scene.
However, that theory was debunked and Smith was charged with murder. Smith has been sentenced to 45 years in prison and will not be eligible for early release.
