There is now, at least some closure in the 2017 murder of a Greenville High School student. 23 year old, Daniel Dejesus Rangel-Sherrer has entered guilty pleas to murder and a weapons charge. Court evidence displayed that Rangel-Sherrer picked up two girls from Greenville High and took them to the woods at his residence, while he was armed with a rifle.
He shot one of the girls twice, then cut her throat, the other managed to escape and called 911. The victim was just 17 years old when she was killed. Rangel-Sherrer has been sentenced to 60 years for murder and 5 years possessing a weapon during a violent crime, he has been ordered to do every day of the sentence.
