Another arrest has been announced against a now former corrections officer in the state prison system. 36 year old, Kevin Howard is accused of trying to bring drugs into the Tyger River facility. Officials say, he was caught with meth, marijuana and tobacco as he came into work, Thursday.
Investigators say that Howard tried hiding the drugs in food that he brought to work with him. Howard has been fired from the Department of Corrections. He's now charged with trafficking meth, intent to distribute marijuana, providing contraband, criminal conspiracy and misconduct in office.
Howard's arrest comes after the announcement of five officers that were indicted and charged with a smuggling drugs into the McCormick Correctional facility.
