A small business owner in Greenville has expressed interest in running for mayor. Paula Fulghum , an Independent candidate filed a petition earlier this week, to be on the November ballot.

If she's able to get 2,500 signatures for the petition in the next 6 weeks, she will then be on the general election ballot. Fulghum has stated her main campaign platforms will be increasing funding for the city's public safety officers, finding solutions in handling Greenville's rapid growth, and advocating for term limits for the office of Mayor and possibly for City Council, as well.
Two other candidates, Republican Joe Farmer and Democrat Michelle Shain have already filed to run for Mayor. Farmer will face incumbent Knox White in the Republican Primary on June 13th. White has held the position since 1st being elected in 1995 and is seeking another term. White is already the longest serving Mayor in the city's history.
