An inmate at an Upstate prison died while in custody, earlier this week. The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office responded Wednesday night to the Tyger River Correctional Facility.
Upon arrival, 70 year old inmate Robert Edward Lee was found dead. The Coroners Office says there were no apparent signs of foul play and that he likely died of natural causes.
However, the Coroners Office is set to do further testing.
