The Chief says Jasmine Burris was brought in for trespassing, then resisting arrest from a vacant house on Salem Street Sunday.

The gun wasn't discovered until Monday morning when he was moved form the holding cell to the booking area and given a routine pat down search. Burris now faces unlawful firearms charges.

Chief Stewart says, “This could have been a dangerous situation for all involved and the department is reviewing procedure and policy along with increased training to ensure this situation does not occur in the future.”
