One person is dead after a weekend shooting in Spartanburg County. Deputies responded to a shooting in the area of Old Greenville Road and Fairforest Road, Saturday. Witnesses has reported that a man had been shot while inside a vehicle at the Valley Creek Apartments on Fairfirest Road.
The Sheriff's Office says a vehicle was found at the intersection of Old Greenville and Old Country Parrish Roads. A man was found inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say the victim had tried driving away after being shot and crashed the vehicle into a tree.
The Spartanburg county Coroner's Office identified the victim as 20 year old Daniel Rivera. An autopsy is scheduled, Monday to determine more details. There have been no arrests announced, as of the time of this report.
