Police in Asheville are investigating two shooting deaths that happened within a half hour of each other this past Friday.
Samantha Booth, with the Asheville PD, said officers responded around 11:30pm and found a man who had been shot and killed inside a business. Police identified the man as 30 year old Chase Christian VanLeeuwen.
Thirty minutes later, Police received a call about a woman, dropped off at Mission Hospital also suffered a gunshot wound according to Booth. Despite efforts to save her life, 20 year old Marckia Ornette Jones, died at the hospital.
Detectives on the case are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue to investigate both fatal shootings.
