A judge is expected to make a decision on whether a case will go to trial. The accused is former Greenville County Deputy Christopher Abercrombie. He's accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty and in uniform.
Abercrombie was fired from the sheriff's office in late 2020 and he was arrested in connection to the incident in February of 2021. Abercrombie is charged with criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, burglary and other charges.
Court records say Abercrombie's defense team has filed for a summary judgement ahead of the case going to trial. We plan to have more on this story once a judgment is made.
