A K-9 officer is said to be recovering after being stabbed in an incident, Monday.
As we previously reported, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and Department of Homeland Security were serving a warrant on a suspect they located at the Woodlawn Cemetery on Pine Knoll Drive around 3 PM, Monday afternoon.
Sheriff Hobart Lewis says the suspect who has not yet been publicly identified would not comply and Mickey the K-9 officer was deployed. The suspect then began to stab the dog, that's when deputies fired and hit the suspect.
Mickey was taken to an emergency vet clinic and underwent surgery. The Sheriff's Office says the dog is recovering and the prognosis is good, moving forward. Mickey is expected to be released in the next 5 days.
