A suspect is facing charges after allegedly trying to stab multiple people inside an Upstate grocery store. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to the Ingles on Asheville Highway in Spartanburg around 7:30 PM Sunday night.
Deputies say, a suspect, later identified as William Gilliam, was shoplifting and attempting to stab customers inside the store. A woman who was shopping there detained Gilliam until deputies arrived.
Deputies say that Gilliam admitted to biting the woman, and she did have a bite wound. Gilliam was arrested and is charged with armed robbery
