Two individuals who own a transitional home have been charged with neglect following the death of a vulnerable person.
Laurens County deputies found the body just after 6 a.m. in the front yard of the transitional home, “We Are Here For You LLC”, on Billy Leopard Road in Cross Hill after responding to a reported suicide.
According to deputies, seven people were living at the location, a single wide mobile home.
Deputies also said the home did not have the proper licensing or the necessary medical care for those individuals. There was also not adequate sleeping space or supervision.
The owners, Eric Lee Belcher and Dana Nataye James, have been arrested and charged with six counts of Knowing and Willful Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult.
