A suspect is in custody after a live grenade was found in his vehicle in Western North Carolina. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office responded to a breaking and entering call in Candler, Tuesday.
Deputies arrested the suspect Gregory Petitt after he led them on a short chase. While searching his vehicle, deputies found what was later determined to be a live grenade.
Petitt is charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction, attempted burglary, property damage, a number of traffic violations and other crimes.
