A man who was found passed out on a Utility Task Vehicle or UTV in the Upstate, Monday morning is facing a list of charges.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Center Road in Travelers Rest and found a man passed out on a UTV. When Deputies arrived, the man suddenly woke up and took off on the UTV, and a chase ensued.

The suspect, later identified as 45 year old Brian Doyle Medlin, eventually abandoned the UTV and ran into the woods on foot. Deputies gave chase and, during the foot pursuit, a shot was fired.

It was later determined to be a resident shooting at the suspect. Medlin was said to be highly intoxicated; deputies used a taser on him and were able to take him into custody.

Medlin is charged with attempted murder, resisting arrest, failure to stop for blue lights and disorderly conduct.
