An immigrant will face deportation after he serves two decades behind bars for attacking a victim with a power saw in the Upstate. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office says 24 year old, Maynor Geovanny Manzanares Romero cut a victim's neck with a circular saw in 2024.
Court records show that Romero cut the victim's neck and injured their spine during a home improvement project. Romero fled the scene initially but was later taken into custody.
The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office has announced that Romero pleaded guilty on a charge of attempted murder. He's been sentenced to 20 years in the South Carolina prison system. He also faces deportation after he serves his sentence.
