A Mauldin double homicide suspect was found dead in McCormick, SC Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Mauldin Police responded to the Arbors at Brookfield apartment complex on Butler Road due to a shots fired call. Saturday, March 23, 2024, around 6pm, Police found two women deceased on scene.
While investigating, Authorities were able to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect, Christopher Minor, 50, of Mauldin. The warrant was for two counts of murder and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent act.
Minor was not found on scene and a search began. Officials believed he left in a white Cadillac with South Carolina plate 297-AFW.
On Sunday, the City of Mauldin confirmed Minor was found dead in McCormick South Carolina, which is about an hour and a half south of Mauldin.
The victims have been identified as 41 year old Mariellen Bessent Minor of Greenville, who suffered at least one gunshot wound according to the Coroner, and 52 year old Kim Melissa Thrift of Greenville. An autopsy for Mariellen Minor is scheduled for Monday, March 25, 2024.
Police believe the incident was a case of domestic violence. More details are expected at a later date.
