Governor Henry McMaster has issued an Executive Order to reconvene the General Assembly for an extra legislative session to discuss redistricting. Legislators reconvened Friday with redistricting as their man focus.
Governor McMaster has not reconvened the General Assembly for a special session since 2023, when he became the first governor since Jim Hodges to do so. However, the redrawing of Congressional District lines is not only the topic of discussion in states across the nation, but many see it is as the current top priority for legislators.
