A state of emergency has been declared as wildfires burned across the state over the weekend. Governor McMaster signed an executive order Sunday declaring a state of emergency.
The order enhanced ongoing response efforts while crews worked to get fires contained in the Low Country and the Upstate. The order also put a statewide burn ban in place until further notice.
