A pastor from the Midlands and his wife are both facing charges, as he stands accused of child sex crimes. The Richland County Sheriff's Department says Rodney Gibson and his wife Kawaina Young have both been arrested.
Gibson is a Pastor with Pathway To Hope Ministries. Young owns a daycare in the Midlands. The arrests came after a victim told deputies Gibson had sexually assaulter her a number of times. The alleged sexual abuse began when she was 15 and was under foster care at Gibson and Young's home.
A 2nd victim who was also under their care made allegations of abuse against Gibson. That victim was then taken into protective custody. Gibson is charged with 1st and 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and other crimes. Young is charged with multiple counts of unlawful conduct towards a minor.
