No arrests have been made and the suspect has still not been publicly identified after a shooting threat prompted the lockdown of nearly an entire town in Western North Carolina, Thursday.

Officials in Highlands say that 9-1-1 dispatchers got a call around 10:40 yesterday morning from a man threatening to shoot someone who worked at the Church of the Incarnation on Main Street.

Fox Carolina obtained a recording of the 9-1-1 call in which the suspect claimed there was a pedophile working at the church and he was going to shoot him.

The church, its daycare and nearby Highlands School were placed on lockdown for a period of time. In the 9-1-1 call the suspect threatened to shoot the police if they responded and also made a possible bomb threat.

The Highlands Police Department, Macon County Sheriff's Office and State authorities responded. A bomb squad from Asheville was also dispatched to the area.

Highlands Police Chief Andrea Holland said they received another threat for the same church within the last year.

However, it has not been determined of the two incidents are connected. No injuries were reported and the threat remains under investigation.
