The family of an Upstate woman who was fatally shot last month is seeking changes to a gun law. As we previously reported, 42 year old Kesha Tate was shot and killed in her Gaffney home in late August.
The shooter, 30 year old Nicholas Skyler Lucas was originally charged with Involuntary Manslaughter. He claimed, he was shooting for target practice and a bullet ricocheted through Tate's window. That claim was refuted by forensic evidence and Lucas was then charged with murder.
Now Tate's family is asking for changes to a law. They want to make it illegal to fire a gun in a residential area of Cherokee County. Currently, no law exists there prohibiting a person from shooting a gun outside.
