The National Guard Of North Carolina has grounded a helicopter crew as it investigates an incident. The Guard says a Black Hawk Helicopter was delivering generators to a civilian organization in Western North Carolina.
While trying to land at a distribution outpost, the helicopter experienced "rotor wash" which caused items to blow away from the distribution point. Rotor wash is a strong current of air between the helicopter and the ground.
The crew aborted the landing as a result and left the area. No injuries were reported and the incident remains under investigation by the North Carolina National Guard.
