A college student from North Carolina is making a film to document the damage done by Hurricane Helene. High Point Native Caroline Griffith is filming the documentary for one of her video production classes at NYU.
Her goal is to be able to capture and convey the damage to a broader scale audience. Griffith wants to present to the world what those in Western North Carolina are dealing with, as they rebuild.
Griffith visited Western North Carolina over the Thanksgiving Break to film for the documentary. The short-form doc will have a run time of around 10 minutes. She plans to submit the film to various film festivals.
