Unity Park has a brand new landmark overlooking the area.
The new ten-story 125-foot tall Thomas and Vivian A. Wong Honor Tower is approaching completion overlooking Unity Park.

It was designed as a means to recognize first responders for their work.
Paul Endres, the Principal and Founder of Endres Studio, which designed the tower, said, “We imagine this tower as a beacon, a lantern, of hope of the first responders and a memory of the people that have helped to establish and maintain this community.”

The tower has both an observation deck and the ability to look out from any point along the climb. It can also be lit from within at night, which is visible all the way from downtown.

“The form of the tower is a hexagon, there are six sides, and those six sides spiral into the air and come into the foundation in six columns,” Endres said. “Those six columns form the six branches of the first responders, that of the fire, police, armed services, utilities, EMS and public health.”
An official opening date for the tower has not yet been determined, but construction is in its final stages.
