Another federal lawsuit has been filed in the ongoing Varsity Spirit and Rock Star Cheer scandal. Attorneys from the Columbia based Strom Law Firm say, another abuse survivor has has come forward. That prompted the filing of a lawsuit in Raleigh, North Carolina Thursday morning.
The suit claims the plaintiff reported the abuse to coaches at Extreme Cheer in Raleigh, but nothing was ever done to stop it. The suit claims that administrators and coaches were often present when the young man was touched by abusers.
This lawsuit is the latest of many against Varsity Spirit and the U.S. All Star Federation. The civil suits began being filed here in the Upstate after allegations against Rock Star Cheer in Greenville began to come out.
As we previously reported, Rockstar Cheer Founder Scott Foster committed suicide earlier this year, after learning he was under investigation for sexual abuse.
