Officials say no charges are being filed after a hunter was shot over the weekend. The SCDNR originally investigated the incident and determined that it was not hunting related.
The Anderson County Sheriff's Office then took the lead in the investigation. Evidence and information was gathered by detectives that led them to believe that family members of the victim were involved.
It was then determined that a family member was shooting on an adjacent property without a backstop which resulted in the victim being hit by a bullet.
The Sheriff's Office says the victim has declined to press charges and is still recovering.
