It'll be no deal for Joe Dill, as the State Republican Party has denied his motion for protest. The incumbent lost by a narrow margin in the June 14th Primary for the District 17 Greenville County Council seat to challenger Joey Russo.
Dill then filed a protest citing voting irregularities and the Greenville County Republican Party ruled in his favor overturning the June 14th results. Russo then filed an appeal with the Executive Committee for the state party. The committee decided to uphold the results of the primary saying there was a lack of evidence to Dill's claim for protest.
SCGOP Chair Drew McKissick said "There was no credible evidence that would have changed the outcome of the primary. There will be no new primary, period".
Greenville County's ruling was thrown out and the original results from June 14th were upheld, declaring Joey Russo the winner.
