A North Carolina man has been sentenced to prison after the overdose death of a man in Rutherford County. Back in late May, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in the Henrietta Community.
Upon arrival, deputies found a man who was later identified as Jonathon Pruitt dead inside the house. 63 year old, Kenneth Ray Melton was arrested in connection to Pruitt's death.
He pleaded guilty to charges of death by distribution and 2nd degree murder. Melton pleaded guilty last week and has been sentenced to between 8 and 11 years in prison
