A reported family squabble led to a weekend shooting in Western North Carolina that left one person injured and another behind bars. The Rutherfordton Police Department responded to a report of shots fired around 11:30, Friday night.
Officers arrived and found shell casings at the scene and a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was then located and was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
He was then booked in Rutherford County on attempted murder and drug possession charges. The suspect's identity has not been released, as of the time of this report. Clint Ingle the Chief Of Police in Rutherfordton says the incident stemmed from a family dispute.
