An infamous suspect from the Upstate whose already been indicted for shooting at law enforcement, has now also been indicted on child sex crime charges in Western North Carolina.
The U.S. Department of Justice says a federal grand jury returned an indictment against 40 year old, Ricky Dean Clinton for transporting a minor across state lines to for sexual purposes and other related crimes.
Court records say, the indictment comes after a crime spree Clinton went on over the summer. Back in June, a 15 year old girl from Gaffney was reported missing and was believed to be with Clinton.
Then in August, U.S. Marshals located Clinton in Cleveland County, North Carolina. When approached Clinton opened fire at the Marshals and was shot when agents returned fire.
He was indicted in October on charges related to that incident. Clinton is currently in federal custody awaiting trial.
