A wanted fugitive sex offender out of the state of New York is behind bars in Spartanburg County.
According to the Sheriff's Office, An anonymous tipster shared with Patrol that the fugitive may be in the Wellford area. After investigating and gathering enough details to pass along to the Sex Offender Registry Officers, a warrant was obtained.
Earlier this week, 31 year old Shaun Ryan Johnson was arrested for Fugitive From Justice and is currently awaiting extradition to New York on the charge of rape. Johnson was previously convicted of rape in New York which put him on the states' sex offender registry.
