It's a story that goes back to the days of Cain and Abel, now all these years later an Oconee County man has been accused of killing his own brother.
As we previously reported, the Oconee County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Welborn Road in West Union January 23rd after a report of a possible cardiac arrest.
Upon arrival, a man was found lying on the floor, paramedics worked on the victim, but he later was pronounced dead. The deceased has now been identified as 45 year old, William Jamie Daniel Chastain. An autopsy report showed that he died from being beaten to death.
The victim's brother 46 year old, Matthew Scott Chastain was arrested last Friday in connection to his brother's death. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter.
