A Seneca man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a fatal drug overdose. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says 48 year old, Stephen Maxwell Bruce entered a guilty plea to a charge of involuntary manslaughter, yesterday.
As we previously reported, the charge came after both Bruce and 58 year old, Karen Louise Wallace overdosed on Fentanyl at a home near Seneca in September. Bruce was revived, Wallace was pronounced dead at te scene.
Investigators later determined Bruce had sold Wallace the drugs that killed her. Bruce was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Seneca last month. He was found with meth in that incident and faces an additional charge of intent to distribute.
Bruce has been sentenced to 5 years in prison on the involuntary manslaughter charge.
