One person is dead after two separate weekend train crashes in the Upstate. The 1st was a collision between a tractor trailer and a train, Friday afternoon.
Officials responded to the intersection of 4th and Moore Streets in Downtown Greer. No injuries were reported in that crash.
The 2nd crash occurred Saturday morning in Pickens County and both trains were being operated by Norfolk Southern Railway. Officials say a pedestrian was hit by a train at Watkins Avenue and East Main Street in Central.
The Pickens County Coroner's Office says 57 year old, James O'Neill of Central was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatal crash remains under investigation.
