One person is dead and another is injured after a crash in the Upstate early Thursday morning. The Cherokee County Coroner's Office says the crash happened just before 4AM on I-85 southbound near Exit 87.
Two tractor trailers collided when one rear-ended the other one. The fuel tanks on one of the trucks erupted, causing the rig to go up in flames. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.
He's been identified as 37 year old Quinton Lanier Hightower of Georgia. The other driver was injured and transported to the hospital.
